How Do You Detect Personal Blind Spots?
When learning to drive, one of the paramount safety instructions taught is to check blind spots before moving the vehicle and sharing the road with others.
One of the common blind spot is on the driver's side and lies somewhere between the driver's window and back towards the rear of the left side of the vehicle. Often a motorist who is sharing the road will pass a vehicle on the driver's side and remain undetected if the driver doesn't glance over their shoulder or adjust the rear view mirror accordingly.
In fact, this proved to be such a safety hazard, that huge semis would remind those in autos that, "If you can't see me, I can't see you."
Fortunately, today in newer vehicles, there are detectors that will alert the drivers to various hazards that often occupy these blind spots and prevent mishaps.
Other blind spots include the right passenger's side of the vehicle and the back of the car or truck when backing up.
Additionally, it is important to note that blind spots are not just limited to the vehicles on the road.
Blind spots can occur within our own personalities such as character flaws or over indulgences that can adversely affect our health or other areas that contribute to our well-being.
Additionally, we may have blind spots when it comes to interacting with others. Being overbearing, lack of listening, impatience, etc. can all be blind spots that we may not see or recognize in ourselves.
It is also important to realize that there may be blind spots in our business operations as well.
